In the early days of the school's history, the staff taught students about quality learning, and the school introduced the Rototuna Learner. The values of Rototuna Learners lasted 20 years (from 2003 to 2023). 

This student symbolized a risk taker, communicator, team player, and many other values. 

The Moto/ focus changed into He Rawe Mo Ake Tonu (Our Best Always), and later, in 2024, it was altered to Kia Manawanui (Strong of Heart). 

The heart in the logo acknowledges the past as we move into the future: the original school logo, when the school opened, was 2 Koru, which was formed in the shape of a heart.
